If we allow our conscience and motives to go unchecked, there is a fine line between not denying Christ before men and doing your works of righteousness to gain applause before men. We will not only be judged for what we did...but for why we did it. We will not only be judged for what we didnt do...but for why we didnt do it. What is our motive? A righteous act with an evil, self serving motive, will be wood, hay and stubble when its tried by fire at the judgment seat. 1 Cor 3:11-13- 2 Cor 5:10 There is no fine line between doing ANYTHING that robs God of His glory. The commandment says: Thou shall not steal. This not only pertains to material things, but to the spiritual as well. Was this not the sin of Satan? Rob not God of His glory because youre so enamored with self. Become enamored with Christ and His glory by denying yourself of your own. There is no glory but Gods glory anyhow (mans glory withers like the grass). So why think otherwise and become guilty of not only stealing, but lying as well?
