If we do a compassionate act that goes unrewarded by others in this life, God will pay us back in the next life. This gives us an extra incentive to help the helpless. Not only do they need our help, not only does it please God, but He is eager to reward us for it! “And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward” (Matthew 10:42). epm.org/tlor
