If we find ourselves unable to afford food from local farmers or those who raise animals and grow vegetables the way God intended, could it sometimes be because we have not brought the issue to God in prayer? He desires that we are good stewards of these things and thus He desires that we spend our financial resources on people who are good stewards as well. For example: The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel. Proverbs 12:10 NLT Would He really desire for us to buy food from multi-billion dollar corporations that treat animals horrendously or employ slave/child laborers? Is it His will that we have the latest clothes, electronics, big homes, and new vehicles at the cost of these peoples and animals well-being?! Have we given Him a chance to increase our ability to support godly farmers with our grocery money? Have we given God room to work in this area of our lives? Maybe Hes calling us to sacrifice material possessions to be able to support godly farmers with our grocery money. Additionally, maybe Hes calling us to raise/grow our own food? Maybe Hes calling His people to be producers for this earth rather than consumers! Rather than giving up before we try, we can seek God and ask what His will is for our lives in this area as with anything in our lives! He is so faithful that I know He WILL give guidance and provision for those who seek it and need it in this area of their lives!
