WORSHIP GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART; AND NOT WITH YOUR LIPS - TopicsExpress

WORSHIP GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART; AND NOT WITH YOUR LIPS ONLY!!! The Bible commands the true believers to worship God with all their hearts; and not parts of their hearts. Those who worship God with all their hearts, obey God in every area and aspect of their lives. That is how a person can tell, if he/she is worshipping God with all his/her heart, soul and mind: [35] One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: [36] Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? [37] Jesus replied: ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ [38] This is the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:35-38). WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LOVING GOD? The Bible defines the love of God as being obedient to God - that is, obeying the commands and laws of God in the Bible: (I). [3] In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). (ii). Jesus says: [15] If you love me, you will keep my commands (John 14:15). (iii). Again, Jesus says: Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them (John 14:21). (iv). [6] And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love (2 John 1:6). Hence, those who love Jesus Christ are those, who, because they have Gods Spirit in them, strive and do all in their power to obey the commands of God in every area of their lives. Like Abraham, they produce good works that pleases the LORD in accordance with their faith. These people because of the trust and belief they have in the LORD has led them to be obedient to God: Obedience that comes through faith. HYPOCRITES DO NOT LOVE GOD; AND THEREFORE CANNOT OBEY HIM. Only hypocrites worship God with their lips only. Now, there is another group of people, who claim to love God, but their hearts are far from HIM. This is how you notice those people: they do not obey Gods commands. In order for them to justify their lack of genuine love for God; they have developed a doctrine of misrepresentation of grace: where they justify why they should not obey the commands of God. BELOW ARE A FEW OF THE STATEMENTS THESE HYPOCRITES MAKE: (i). Hypocrites say obeying God is practicing law. (ii). Hypocrites say, Jesus obeys God for them; and as for them, they are saved by grace; and therefore, it is not necessary for them to do what God has commanded in the Bible. (iii). Hypocrites are always playing the grace game. (iv). We are not under law. (v). It is by grace and not by works. (Though, this statement is true; the hypocrites give a different meaning to it by their false satanic teaching). Trying to tell people that they could continually live in sin, because they continually receive pardoning for every deliberate sin they commit. Jesus says: [7] You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: [8] ’These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. [9] They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules (Matthew 15:7-9). To worship in vain, is to do nothing to please God. A worship without any works that pleases God; is worshipping God in vain.
