If you are deep frying your bird, dont let this happen to you. In the 15 yrs I have done it (3-4 times a year,) I have never (knock on wood,) had a fire. The most common causes are filling the pot with to much oil and not drying the bird off. The 2nd, is an easy fix. Take the 3 extra minutes to completely dry the bird off. To avoid the first, put the turkey in the empty pot, still in the wrapper. Fill the pot with water till the bird is barely covered. Pull the bird out and that is your line to fill the pot with oil. -fatty
