If you are in for a great Giant Bass story... read on down So, I decided to hit the hidden pond today. Just as an idea it is about a 30 minute walk in all directions to get to the pond. It is surrounded by trees and on one side there is a very tall stone embankment that makes it very difficult to stand and cast, let alone catch fish. However...I have caught, seen, and know there are GIANT bass in this hidden jem. I make the trek back through the weeds... not to self do not wear shorts next time.. the thorns were killer...oh and not to mention the skeeters. Well decided on the old J hook and wacky rig set up that has been doing so well the past few days and sure enough first cast in.. WHACK solid take...8lb line ( you will need to remember this for later in the story) Ended up with a nice 4-5 lb bass. Great color, super healthy fatty big head.. really nice fish. So I walk down a ways standing on a bad incline. cast # 8ish WHACK rips me down sliding down the rocks into the water. Ended with a nice 4-5 lb bass. Looks like the same fish but different tail lines. So at this point I am pumped.. going to be a good day! Walk down further. Cast 20ish SHHHHHHHHWWWWAAAAACKKKKKERRRRDUDLE Huge cow sized bass hits, jumps about 4 ft out of the water lands and I still have him. Super glad he didnt throw the hook. Im fighting through muck weeds, trees, rocks. good 5 minute plus fight and I get him to the bank. In the Chaos I forget (8lb line) and try to pick him up out of the water (tourney swing) and as soon as his tail leaves the water snap goes the line........ and that is where I decided the day was over... he is still out there (biggest bass I would have ever had in my life, if you look through this site you realize I fish A LOT)
