If you are lost. Try to imagine a cinema movie... And a car that is coming towards you (the observer). Now if that car was a real one and the world that we see inside that movie was a real one too. And If the car could reach the screen and jump out of it! Then that car would have traveled to the fourth dimension! But remember! We are talking about the cars perspective. Because from our prespective, our world has 3 dimensions not 4 and the car is flat. But it is the only way to visualise something so difficult as this. :)
