If you build it, they will come . . . we have approval for a sew-a-thon at the College! Today, the President of Sault College, Ron Common, and the Vice-President Academic, Leo Tiberi, gave enthusiastic support for a Zonta/Sault College Days for Girls community sew-a-thon to be held in Essar Hall at Sault College. So, save the date folks - Saturday, February 22, 9-5 Interest is phenomenal. Just from letting people know that approval had been given, we had at least 15 people who said they wanted to take part and would bring others. Imagine how many we might get! In addition, support was provided to have dedicated access to 4 tables in the Timmys hallway for the next 8 weeks. (This is unprecedented.). Starting Monday, sewing bees (as weve been doing them) will take place: Mondays, 9:30-12:30 Tuesdays, 12:30-3:30 Thursdays, 9:30-3:30 All are welcome to attend (sorry, no free parking). BScN students will use the tables other times in the week to further promote their goals of fundraising to support the education of one girl for a year and to collect supplies to create individual first aid kits. There is also a need to fundraise to pay shipping costs as the airline has stated it will not absorb these costs. The only bad, but good, news is that today was a super fantastically busy day, so much so, that I didnt have time to remember to take pics. Ask about the Zonta/Sault College Days for Girls Project.
