The only way the individuals of our species can, as you must seize it in one form or another, have power is through seeking knowledge not just for a better paycheck but to better oneself. In the future the individuals of mankind should be so intelligent that they will have the insight or wisdom, power or knowledge to govern themselves while still being sovereign individuals. The nation does not have boarders, it is the individual. Nations change and move, but the individual has always been. Because to conquer the world isnt to kill countless soldiers, but to understand countless thoughts. To hold the philosophers stone, is to be in a state of technological and physical perfection that ostensive power or material wealth doesnt really matter in the hands of one person or another. This finds its beginnings in a world like Star Trek, we are entering that new world slowly. Look around, one would be a fool to deny it. NASA has already confirmed that warp travel is viable, the technology doesnt exist yet but the universe shows us that we can hold a candle to that concept. ITER is a European project where theyre building a fusion reactor, when it fires up it will in and of itself power a large portion of Europe. In California they just turned on their reactor and got more energy out than what they put in. Myriad of data across the world is coming together in a beautiful symmetry of technology and ideas that will allow all individuals one day to rule themselves as powerful and insightful as any world superpower today.
