If you buy shrimp made in Thailand (the second largest seafood supplier to the U.S.), you are probably funding slavery. Because the Thai slave ships can produce shrimp feed at the lowest global cost via unpaid, beaten and tortured Burmese and Cambodian slaves, the resulting shrimp ends up on the shelves in Walmart, Aldi, and Costco. You know: live better, pay less. The U.S. government is considering trade sanctions with Thailand if Thailand does not enforce its own laws against slavery.
