If you didnt have the opportunity to see Larry deliver this first in a series of lectures then please take advantage of this broadcast version and spend the hour (he starts speaking around 13:00) to listen and absorb what he has to say. You will not regret it and you will be so much more of an informed citizen in doing so. It is both an indictment of our political institutions and in the end a call to arms for anyone who truly cares about our democracy. Having quoted him at length in my book on transparent government (prometheusbooks/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2209&zenid=sco81rcebeas8r2s2p1c0m6qr6) and read a number of his papers, this lecture in particular reverberates with me personally.
