The states were bribed into implementing Common Core standards, if they wanted to see any of the 4.3 billion dollars worth of stimulus money back when the economy was tanking, they had to implement... No implementation, no money...Is that really how we want the education standards for our children to be determined? By 2011, 45 states had officially adopted Common Core standards and yet by 2013, 62% of Americans said they had never heard of Common Core.Thats according to a PDK Gallup poll of the publics attitude toward public schools - 2013... Where was the debate? Where was the public approval? Why so obscure? ...30 people were part of the validation committee for the Common Core standards, 5 of them refused to sign a report saying these standards were internationally bench marked, as a result their names were expunged from the reports and no minority report was issued. Their removal made it possible to say everyone approved of the core standards and that they were internationally bench marked... Of those 5, who were omitted, Dr. Milgram a Stanford professor of 45 years and Dr. Stotsky, who was in charge of developmental revision of all K-12 studies of all major subjects, were the only mathematics and English language arts content specialists on the 30 person validation committee. That fact alone makes the Common Core standards a terrifying prospect..
