If you havent been to the Ocean City Historical Museum, you need to check it out! Such a neat history from cows grazing, to a religous retreat, railroads, trolly, boardwalk and so on. Did you know that the first toll on the wooden 9th Street bridge in 1914 was 5 cents per person & car? First beach tag was $5 in 1976, the Flanders had a salt water pool for 50 years. Learn how the Gardens area came into being in 1920 and the details of the big boardwalk fire of 1927. See the Horse from Gillians Carosell in 1929 and learn of the different myths of the Sinda that was shipwrecked on our shores. Neat fact learned is that Scullville (town very close by) was named after Abel Scull who was a salvage cargo diver in 1906. Have fun exploring some of our rich history next time you are in town!
