If you heard that a tornado hit Kansas, and the pyroclastic flow wiped out the interstate, youd call that stupid (I hope). Thats my assessment of the newspeople, and congresspersons, who have been talking about the Ft Hood shooter and PTSD. Violence is not a symptom or result of PTSD. Look at the medical data. I resent and dislike when a group of Americans are maligned and painted as having some kind of tripwire. Im talking about the unfortunate few veterans with PTSD. The Ft Hood shooter, who did not have a diagnosis of PTSD, and who had over a decade of army service but only the rank of E-4, had a list of problems as long as your arm. American veterans, including those with the difficult, tragic and yet treatable malady of PTSD, deserve more respect. Get with it, newshounds and congressheads. My respect for you lessens when I hear poorly informed comments that include rationales for legislation that are so poorly supported.
