And no, they dont get January 1st off, either. (AP) — Residents in one Massachusetts town are fighting to bring back Christmas vacation. Marshfields school committee last month voted 3-2 to change the name of what has been traditionally called Christmas vacation to holiday break. Supporters of the change say the old name represented only one tradition while the new name promotes inclusion, diversity and tolerance. The Patriot Ledger reports that a resident presented the committee last night with a petition signed by 443 people who want to see the vote reversed and the name Christmas vacation restored.
