If you live in Los Angeles and you regularly drive through the intersection of Sunset and Crescent Heights, you should be very scared of the 8150 development. Its a monster, and the traffic impact on the already heavily congested area will be enormous. Worse, this proposed development has been fast tracked through the approval process with a completely bogus environmental leadership designation This preposterous designation, formerly granted to a massive job-creating Apple campus and a clean-energy producing solar power farm, but in this case, given to a fat condo/apartments/were-not-sure yet high rise with a high-end grocery store and yoga studio in the bottom floors, was protested by those members of the West Hollywood City Council who havent been bought off by Townscape Developers. Now that Townscape has gamed the system to make sure theres very little time for concerned citizens to respond to it, the developer has posted their environmental impact report. It makes for a frightening read. New stoplights on side streets that will cause traffic overflow onto main arteries. Eighteen-wheeler exit ramps across from eighteen-wheeler loading docks at the building opposite. Ive posted a link to the full report in the comments below. These reports are designed to be dense and hard to penetrate for us regular civilians. But thankfully, the folks at Save Sunset Boulevard are parsing it line by line.
