If you told me I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life, it would likely be bread. The magical combination of water, flour, yeast and salt; with occasionally some other ingredients added, has often been called the staff of life. This version took over 24 hours (mostly hands off) to make, and was totally worth the time! Crunchy crust, chewy crumb, complex flavor... I could go on and on, but Id just make you jealous ;) While I had to eat the first slice absolutely plain while still warm, Im looking forward to enjoying the rest of this loaf with some homemade jam, or soft cooked eggs...
