If you want to fish the yak you should hit the upper stretches. From ensign down to Bristol. Salmon carcasses everywhere. Found some fish feeding on eggs, lots of cranefly action. Didnt see a single October but the fish were coming up for them regardless. A few shortwing as well. Super consistent and really aggressive takes. Lots of missed fish due to the fast takes. Lots of fish spit out flies. Most of the fish were in the 14 inch range but there were a bunch of hogs coming up. I only snapped a photo of the first big fish. The others I caught fought hard and I didnt want to stress them needlessly. Mostly bows today. Its only gonna get better as the temps cool. The rain and overcast really helped today. Anyone who wants to float should give me a message. Always have room. I floated solo today and it was kind of a shame to not share it with anyone.
