If you watch this great segment on the Lottery, what Im about to say will make more sense. Im kind of indifferent to the idea of the Lottery. Its an interesting thing. I hardly ever play it because I know my odds and then I add the natural luck that follows me everyday of my life (translation: 0 lucks) and decide to use that dollar or 2 on a coffee. If it gives some person, who spends a dollar or 2 a week a little hope, that may be something, That said, what does make me incredibly angry is the fact that states advertise that the Lottery earnings from the state go towards education. To which Mr Oliver not only exposes as false, but are then used to supplement the corporate tax breaks that our lovely elected officials seem so keen about. The Lottery literally is a tax on the poor to prop up the rich.
