If you were listening to King 5 News on Aug. 12, you heard coverage of the additional school funding that will come from the State Supreme Court ruling last year. Kent’s increase is estimated to be around $16.8 million. Even though the state legislature is starting to recognize it wasn’t meeting its paramount duty to fund education, Dr. Dick Stedry (KSD Chief Business Officer) doesn’t get it yet. Even though there are funds to decrease class size, Dr. Stedry says there’s no room for kids! “Even though the money is there, we may not be able to use it all or use any of it this year”! SHAME ON YOU DR. STEDRY!
