If your lantern or stove is going to be stored for a long period - TopicsExpress

If your lantern or stove is going to be stored for a long period of time. Always empty the fount ( fuel tank ) Dont throw it away if its still clean, put it back in your container. Right before you use your lantern or stove, put a couple of drops of oil in the pump. Use 3 & 1 oil , neats-foot oil or other light oils. Never use WD40, this will ruin your seals. Its also good to add a drop of oil on the under side of the gas cap. This will help lubricate the seal there also. Just rub the oil around the rubber seal. How to light new mantles; Some people just light them at the start before turning the valve. Here is what I do; After installing the mantles I leave the globe and top (vent) off the lantern. I them pump the lantern up, turn the valve, light the mantles. Leaving the globe off when lighting the new mantles keeps it from getting smoked up the mantles. Never store your lantern or stove on concrete. This will cause condensation on the bottom of the tank. Which will cause it to rust. I hope these little tips will help you enjoy your lantern or stove for years to come. Thank you, Steve Wagoner
