If youre a woman and youre licensed to shoot, then your skills are in hot demand. Theres a growing market for female gun instructors as more women want to learn to shoot both for self defense and for sport. The National Rifle Association is trying to boost its roster of 8,000 NRA-certified female instructors, according to a spokesperson. Its doing so by organizing Women on Target training clinics nationwide. The group held 450 clinics for 12,000 women in 2013. According to the NRA, self protection is still the primary reason women want gun training, but more are taking up activities like target shooting or skeet shooting.
