If youre looking to get involved in outreach and ministry, here is a list of opportunities to serve. Come on! Its joyful work and wed love to have you! I am personally very thankful for the spirit of everyone who continually serves in so many capacities and opportunities. November 23rd - at ILC - help pack boxes for Thanksgiving families Sunday November 24th - at ILC - help distribute and collect family information from recipients of boxes after church. These families will be sponsored by Immanuel and friends for Christmas (on Dec. 21). Sunday, November 24th - JUST AS A FYI, there is a Colombia Missions team bake sale in the narthex with pies, cakes, etc. Please come prepared to support this endeavor if you can. Thursday, November 28th - Services at ILC AND feed the police a Thanksgiving Feast at Appling Farms Station. Sign up for an item if you have not and serve those that serve us. Friday, December 6th, ILC at 6:30 - meet to prepare appx. 20 baskets for our shut-ins. Saturday, December 7th, 11:00 to 1:00 - Christmas luncheon at Bahama Breeze - We will deliver baskets to shut-ins after the luncheon. We will need an appx number so be sure and sign up. Any lady can come - not just LWML ladies. Good time to invite those you think might wish to become a member. Tuesday, December 17th, 6:30 - Craft night with the ladies and their children at the Moriah House Saturday, December 21st at ILC at 10:30- Operation Christmas child festivities. Volunteers needed to help with crafts, bible stories, meet and greet, etc. LWML will adopt a family to purchase gifts for but I will not have this info to share until we obtain it from the families this weekend. I will update later. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at ILC- China tea presentation to raise funds for Missionary family in China. Ashely Tieman will need volunteers to help with this. She will be the presenter. Monday, January 13, 2014 - LWML would like to take the Colombian Family, the Contreras, out to eat at a local restaurant. The family leaves the U.S. on January 14th headed back home. This will be our time to get to know this family and mingle with them. LWML supports a boy, Christian, there from the church and I believe it will be a great time to get to know those who take care of Christian. The month of February 2014 - Love Boxes and hats and scarves donations. More to come later. During all of the above there are opportunities for Memphis Union Mission servants this coming weekend, Saturday, Nov. 23rd. We also have the Cantata and Advent dinners and Advent services in December. So come and join in one or some or all of the events and BE the response to Gods command: GO AND SPREAD THE GOSPEL TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!
