If youre thinking of going Parrot Bebop think again after you read some of these horrendous reviews Parrot Bobop drone 1.0 out of 51.0 Posted by: dphil89 on 12/09/2014 What a disappointment! Got it all charged up and when to an open park around the corner... first flight gets message that there is a motor failure. Reset and get the same problem, several times. When I did get it to fly, had zero control. The App doesnt take me into flight mode anymore so I deleted app and re-installed. Nope...still no connection now. The power button at the base seems to be stuck in the on possition, as I cant turn it off anymore, unless I unplug the battery. I read all the reviews, and saw the problems people had, but I thought maybe those were first orders or something (really wanted this thing I guess). I received the product today, 12-9-14... Do not buy this as a gift for someone...you will be throwing your money away. Im returning mine for refund only, no exchange. No, I would not recommend this to a friend. 21out of57found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?2136 Flag Review Thank you! You have successfully submitted feedback for this review. Post Comment Dont Waste Your Money 1.0 out of 51.0 Posted by: dronefan on 12/07/2014 Poor picture quality, lots of lags. Drone shoots up on its own and into walls and buildings. Basically erratic and uncontrollable. Short 8 mins flight time. Return to home GPS brought drone crashing into a building. Bought 2 of these and both were bad. Was really hoping for a good product. Severely disappointed. I have the Parrot ARDrone 2 which is better but still not a very good product. Post Comment it is going back 1.0 out of 51.0 Posted by: grumpyoldgeek from Colorado springson 12/06/2014 Instructions were non existent. The toy came with a foot broken. We decided to try it anyhow and instead of leveling off at 3 foot as designed it shot up into the air about 20 feet. Going back in the morning. Post Comment Not ready for prime time 1.0 out of 51.0 Posted by: Uayalceh on 12/03/2014 Much anticipated this drone. I have had a ar drone 2 for over a year and have been using it with aftermarket batteries to great effect ( 30 minute + flights). When I opened the bebop I was impressed, the construction is very good. I flew it a few times around the apartment crashed it once and afterwards the batteries would not engage. I looked on line and there is zip info on disassembly or repair. (Forget the easy disassembly claims on the website, as there are delicate electronic connections between sections of the drone, unlike the ar2). I returned it to best buy. oh by the way, dont inquire about exchanges over the phone with your local BB store, Amber At our local daytona store told me it was against policy to accept defective dot purchases at stores (after being very insistent after I read her documentation of store policy from their website.) I printed out the policy from the website and went to the store and had no problem - so much for Amber. I will order another once my refund is issued, as I believe it is probably a great product with adequate support and service provided. Post Comment Read Comment (1) Not Ready for prime time! 1.0 out of 51.0 Posted by: Droneboy on 12/02/2014 After following the instructions to the letter I took Bebop outside on a calm day and sat it down and hit takeoff. It shot up to about 6 feet and hovered perfectly. I was controlling it with my Ipad which for awhile worked really well and I was thinking this thing is cool. Then suddenly it started gaining altitude for no reason and I immediately tried to bring it down and it responded by shooting skywards at warp speed and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I tried the return home button to no avail. I had the maximum altitude set at 6 meters so it should not have went above that height. I looked skyward and I eventually lost sight of it. Thinking it lost and my $500 down the drain I started looking around and to amazingly it had fallen back to earth upside on the lawn about 300 yards away from me. Fortunately it wasnt damaged but rather than risk losing my $500 next time I took it back to Best Buy. It is possible it lost the Wifi connection because in testing often times it would lose the connection but it should have returned home. I noticed another fellow had the same problem so this is not an isolated case. I called Parrot and told them about it and they didnt even care and said the drone would not be covered under warranty if it happened again. So buyer beware! This is what happened to me. Get the DJI Phantom FC40. It is cheaper and way more reliable. No, I would not recommend this to a friend. 35out of57found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?3522 Flag Review Thank you! Indoor use only. 1.0 out of 51.0 Posted by: anthonym on 11/29/2014 For the price I would expect much better. Yes it is built well enough that it survives crashes, and yes the camera is as good as any GoPro3+, but it is generally not fit for any flight above 20 feet. Id consider myself a veteran flyer of the DJI Phantom line which is far superior and far easier to learn / use (partly because the complementing mobile app for this is absolute trash and a convoluted way to control something at high altitudes). Do yourself a favor and buy the first generation DJI Phantom for a SIGNIFICANTLY better (and sometimes lower cost) experience. Or spring for the Phantom 2+ for a couple hundred dollars more for a whole new class of drone. The only reason you should buy this is if you absolutely need high quality indoor video (and even then wait 6 months for the phone app to at least not crash 5 times midflight). No, I would not recommend this to a friend. 23out of59found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?2336 Flag Review Thank you! You have successfully submitted feedback for this review.
