If youve been delaying, delay no more! Charming people with magnificent gardens that are being featured on Saturdays Kittery Point (Maine) Seaside Garden Tour are waiting . . . and the weather is supposed to be as magnificent as the flowers themselves. The tour kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs to 4 p.m., so theres an opportunity to grab something to eat along the way at Captain & Pattys Restaurant; the Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier or even at the old Frisbees Market sometime during the day. And, dont forget, the Kittery Art Association Gallery (8 Coleman Ave.) is also on the tour with a rich range of flowers outside on its grounds -- and you can see the current show -- Art In Bloom -- for paintings and photographs of flowers. The Gallery is open noon to 6 p.m. Just to get a lay of the land, we went out on Friday morning with Dean Gallant and we took a look at all eight of the gardens, grabbing a sampling of photographs just to give you an idea of what you will see on Saturday. And, please remember, tickets are on sale at the First Congregational Church (that big white church just across the street from the Burying Ground). When you go into the church, youll get a tour book (and this acts as a ticket for admission to each garden) that describes the flower gardens and some of the history behind them. The cost is $23 apiece . . . and all the money raised goes to support two Kittery charities, End 68 Hours of Hunger/Kittery and Footprints Food Pantry. Heres the list (in order of appearance along the 103 and on up Haley Road for the final two -- just across the street from the gasoline station): 1. Howells-Metz Family Gardens, Lawrence Lane. 2. Kathy Connor & David Gibson, 31 Pepperrell Road (the 103). 3. Sarah & Ted Brewer, 67 Pepperrell Road. 4. Kittery Art Association, 8 Coleman Ave. 5. Dr. Robert Allister, Sir William Pepperrell House, 94 Pepperrell Road. 6. Marcia Gibbons and Bill Hazen, 10 Moores Island Lane. 7. Lorna Perry, 633 Haley Road. 8. Gail and Tony Barrington, 627 Haley Road.
