If youve been watching the news, or the calendar for that matter, you probably know that Thanksgiving falls later this year, creating lots of concerns for retailers who are concerned that the later start to the holiday season may hurt sales. Even for those of us who arent in retail, the Holidays are probably the busiest time of the year. Closing out one year, getting ready for another in our businesses, not to mention the personal stuff. Because of this, there has always been a sort of unwritten rule that after the middle of November, its pointless to look for a new job because too close to the Holidays. Is that the case universally? Id like to get some thoughts from hiring managers as well as from job seekers. What have your experiences with hiring at the end of the year. Maybe you have had a critical opening and needed it filled quickly, maybe you needed a job and had to get something quickly. Please share, Id love to hear your thoughts.
