If youve ever stopped by the farm, you have met Wally. He is that beautiful, round Aussie that is the result of breeding two blue merles. Wally has a severe case of micro - ophthalmia which left him without eyes since birth. Dont feel sorry for him. Wally never knew he was blind. In fact, he is the most sensitive of our dogs. I always said he could see dead people, because he can sense things long before the other dogs smelled or saw them. When I moved from Texas, Wally had the whole farm mapped out in 5 minutes. He could always sense the intruder long before anyone else. The only problems happened when we moved the truck or tractor to a new place....then Whammo! Wally has taught me much about disablitlies. This morning I buried Wally who passed in his sleep. I never photoed, Wally. Instead, I experienced him the same way he experienced life without sight. Weird, but seemed respectful. My comfort comes in that he saw his way to Heaven. Happy Wednesday.
