If youve given a dollar, you are part of the Marathon of Hope. Hello, and welcome to the Team Chesson Facebook Group! By way of brief history, the School of Justice and Emergency Services of Durham College (SOJES) has partnered with the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) for the past 3 years to participate in the Terry Fox Run to raise funds for cancer research. We participate in this annual event as a school to honour Sgt. Chesson’s (Mike’s) extraordinary journey as a cancer survivor. Mike is both a DRPS officer and a part time professor in the SOJES. For the past six years, Mike has been successfully fighting the same type of cancer from which Terry Fox suffered. We jointly support this cause to demonstrate our support for our friend and colleague, to honour the value of community service, and to demonstrate our commitment to this most worthwhile and noble cause. This year, the run is taking place on Sunday, September 14. If you know of anyone that is willing and wanting to contribute - or even just head outside for fresh air and a fun day of exercise! - do not hesitate to tell them out Team Chesson and the upcoming run!
