If youve never planned a large-scale (or even small-scale) event, you cant imagine how nerve-racking it can be cross your fingers and hope to make ends meet when all the bills are paid. Procrastinators are the bane of an organizers existence as are the folks who think the rules dont apply to them or think they are somehow owed free admittance. The only way to sustain really cool, local events is to contribute: money (the electric company wont take bartered hemp jewelry), time (as simple as spreading the word and getting your friends to come with you), skills (volunteer to help before, during, and/or after, but schedule it advance, not when you arrive at the gate without money or a ticket).
