If youve tried your Meteor in water and it stopped working I would - TopicsExpress

If youve tried your Meteor in water and it stopped working I would suggest you do not try to charge it again! Personally I think the chance of getting a replacement is low and if, like me, youre in the UK its likely to cost more to return the watch and get a replacement than this is actually worth. My suggestions would be... 1) Assume the watch is not waterproof. 2) If you are going to use the watch in water perhaps test it first in a washing bowl and expect it to fail! 3) If you are going to use the watch in water and have low expectation of getting the watch replaced you can simply open the back of the watch with a torq drive, dry the water out the best you can and then leave the watch in a bag of rice for 24 hours. If water has got in to the watch and is not dried out quickly components inside will corrode and rust. For your entertainment see my pictures bellow. I only opened the watch after reading more and more posts about how unlikely it is that this would be replaced. In all honesty the lack of manual with this device could work in my favour as there is no mention that opening your watch to dry out can invalidate your warranty. Note the rust on the motor used for the vibration at the bottom of the watch. Note the green corrosion at the top left of the watch at a critical point on the board where the battery connects. Attempting to recharge a watch with this bad water damage could damage your charger and in extreme circumstances cause fire. Just dont risk it!
