If youve visited us lately then youve probably been greeted by Arthur, a 12 year-old goat who loves to say hello and maybe eat something in your purse if youre not paying attention. You may be surprised to learn that Arthur struggles with painful arthritis given that he seems to be everywhere on visiting days. Thats because we carefully monitor his well-being and administer anti-inflammatory medication daily. We also tend to his malformed hooves, a condition he developed from the years he lived with a hoarder before CAS rescued him. Arthur will hopefully live a few more years and were committed to making them as pain-free and happy as possible. Hes one of dozens of aging animals who live at CAS. Emergency rescues receive a lot of attention when they happen, but the rescue really continues for years. And just like for people, eventually time takes its toll.
