If you’re interested in films, history and/or narrative structure, please take a look at this. I’ve illustrated simple storytelling cues with clips from silent cinema, the point being to help unlearn the verbal’ (words from Alexander MacKendrick) for writers who rely too much on dialogue and exposition. Its been fun watching a load of silent films, but feels like heresy to mash up Eisenstein, Griffith, Murnau and Fritz Lang. If you get a chance, have a look and let me know what you think.
