As far as I know, from reading the penguin books translation, there is nothing in the Koran that condemns female education, and several passages that could be interpreted to support the concept. Thats the problem with sacred texts. They have to be interpreted, and foolish interpretation can lead to blasphemous dangerous error. This is not just a Muslim problem. We Christians also have our idiotic factions to cope with. In both faiths, I submit that it is the duty of the intelligent, thoughtful, and wise, to disprove, and discredit, idiotic interpretations of the sacred texts. The fail in this is to fail in ones duty, to God-Allah.
