Ill be honest, yesterday didnt start out the greatest and even throughout the day, my mind was preoccupied with news from her scans. We are still waiting to hear on the biopsy results to see if her marrow has cleared, so I will wait to post an update until we know those results. In the meantime, there were definitely some highlights of the day yesterday and so we will focus on that right now. Desi had her first outpatient physical therapy appointment to work on the strength in her legs and her core from after her surgery but from our standpoint, we see her as energetic and busy as she always has been. In PT, they work on specific exercises so it was interesting to see the different ways they work on these goals. This was a new place for Desi and the moment she walked in and looked around at that incredible room, she wanted to do it all at once. The look of excitement on her face was awesome! Because of how well shes doing, she doesnt need to go every week as initially thought, she will only go every other week for now. She then of course had her school time visit with AnnMarie. It is wonderful to see her engaged and still on track of where she would be, if she were attending school. She looks forward to this time each day. From there, we headed to Bloomingdales for a very special occasion. About a month ago, The Ronan Thompson Foundation had reached out to us about a very special event they were putting on with Solving Kids Cancer Foundation at Bloomingdales and asked if Desi would like to be a part of their Runway Heroes fashion show taking place this Saturday. Knowing Desi, I knew this was right up her alley and yesterday was her fitting day. She had the best time picking out and trying on so many beautiful outfits and coming out to show everyone each one. Thank you to these foundations for putting this wonderful event together and to Bloomingdales for the amazing outfit she not only got to pick out, but will get to keep. She will remember this forever. Thank you also to Toms for the cute shoes! Ive attached the flier for the event. It is on Saturday at 2 pm and 10% of Young World purchases this weekend support Pediatric Cancer Research. We then returned to the RMH and Desi got to rock out with a great band that come and donate their time and awesome instruments every Wednesday evening at the house. I honestly dont know what we would do without these Ronald McDonald Houses. They do so much for these families. We have been blessed to have this available to us.
