Okay this is interesting. So Pablo Picasso had a side chick named Dora Maar. They met at a cafe and Picasso was attracted to her beauty and the fact that she was playing the knife game(spreading your fingers out and stabbing the table as fast as possible in-between each one). He bought the bloody gloves that she was wearing and kept them in his apartment. They were in a relationship for 9 years and most of the paintings with women crying are of Dora. In 2006 one of the paintings of her was auctioned off for $95,216,000. I think deep down the love of Guernica brought them together above anything. I love Spain its so lush with history.
