(2013-11-06) South Africa’s High Commissioner to Mozambique Charles Nqakula has assured South Africans who wish to travel to the country that it is stable after anti-government protests broke out in the north of the country. Tourists planning to make their way to Mozambique this festive season have raised safety concerns and threatened to cancel their trips due to the violence in parts of the country. But Nqakula says the southern and central areas are safe for travel. “In South Africa, we have both a political and economic interest in Mozambique and therefore anything that threatens the country is actually threatening us as well.” Source: EyeWitnessNews
