Ill never understand the way some on the right are obsessed it seems with slavery metaphors/comparisons when discussing current political & social events. Every time a right-wing pundit says such a thing I cringe because I know it wont be well received by most black Americans. If were serious about changing our strategy & doing outreach, such extreme language really needs to stop but if were not, I understand & it is what it is - I dont like it, but I understand exactly where we are headed. I have a lot of respect for Niger Innis, but his statement, The slaves had food stamps too, it was called scraps from the massas table is incendiary & disrespectful in my view. I agree with most else he has to share here. Were just imploding & although some racism charges hurled at the right have no truth to them, I have to chuckle now when some conservatives lament on why the left constantly calls them racist. And no, it makes no difference that Mr. Innis is a black American. If we want to spread & share the message of conservatism as a viable political philosophy, we must start with our language: tpnn/black-tea-party-leader-niger-innis-the-slaves-had-food-stamps-too-it-was-called-scraps-from-massas-table/
