Ille flotante are taking me to seventh heaven! Mom makes this desert as easily and naturally as she does Trifle, donuts, soufflés, cakes and chaawal kee kheer (rice pudding). Charlie and I have been meaning to learn this from mom and she offered to make these with us today. Lucky us! Has been a day of learning. As the islands float, I wonder if Papa has helped the grief from his passing to float away slowly to a place where we can all teach, learn, share and live as freely as we always did. The eggs from the farm make a deeply and richly yellow custard. Yummy! An excellent summer dessert. Zoë - so wish you were here with mom around us. I know you would have coaxed out some more recipes out of her. You are missed!
