Illnesses like the flu and malaria, for example, devastated the Zoe tribe in northern Brazil after Christian missionaries established a base camp in the area in the 1980s. This from an NBC news report about an indigenous tribe in Perus interior who has never had contact with the outside world until now, when it fled loggers and drug traffickers. Now, correct me if Im wrong, but malaria doesnt have a human vector. Its spread by mosquitoes, and doesnt need missionaries, Christian or otherwise, to sicken anyone bitten by a mosquito. Is this another example of liberal journalism bashing believers, or just an example of an over-exuberant, ill-informed reporter? Whatever it is, it IS an example of why we must read critically and question things that are presented as facts.
