Im a newby on this wall. Life long pet lover. This year I lost 3 old pets within 3 months of each other. I still have 2 young cats and I rescued a dog a few months before my wonderful boxer mix, Grace passed away. My new...old dog, Fanny had been traumatized by her house burning down and being in 4 different foster homes. She had apparently been a back yard only dog and knew no commands. She was very depressed for about six months. Old dogs can learn new tricks, once they figure out how to learn! It has taken nearly a year but she has all the obedience commands, manners, and a couple cute tricks. She has lost 30 lbs! She is a wonderful loving dog. Grand dogs visit and she is so depressed when they leave. She loves the dog park, especially the puppies and young dogs. Long background but bottom line is, I am looking for a puppy or young dog, but not until end of Nov or beginning of Dec. I am having surgery on a few weeks.
