Im a rishton resident and I have been a member of this group for some time. I have read most things on here and the best advice I can give is to shut it down. It serves no purpose what so ever, I get what its supposed to represent but its simply not working, time to rethink the location/platform of this forum because social media isnt working at all. Unfortunately it seems to be a place for people to air their dirty laundry in public. Im writing this as a recent spat/disagreement/circus show has made it in to the paper, its embarrassing and Im sure thats not what you intended to create when you created this group. Its also not worth all the personal grief you receive on what appears to be a daily basis. I know its the minority and everyone will have a nobody is going to beat us mentality but come on, the energy and focus in some of these posts could surely be used positively elsewhere? Im not saying we shouldnt have a forum but maybe somewhere else where it can be better controlled and achieve what it was clearly created for, an informative and fun reflective of our town. Personally I dont think its great PR for us either....could be wrong just an opinion.
