Im a simple being. I might hold grudges but they quickly end with a simple apology. If they feel too prideful to give an apology then I feel they dont respect you enough. But if they do give an apology then it means that they see you are more valuable than their need to hold on to something as meaningless as pride. And yes, you can forgive people without getting an apology, but you never truly look at someone the same way unless they GIVE you a genuine apology, because then it shows you that if youre going to keep this person around in your life they may put in the effort to not do again the thing that theyre apologizing for
