Im about 50% thru this movie. I remember when the original storyline came out in the comics in 1981. I had pulled the first comic in the arc -Uncanny X-Men 141 - off the spinner rack at Smiths Food King in Meridian, Idaho. I remember flipping through the pages, i remember the green and white checkered linoleum of the store. I remember the Space Invaders and Asteroids video games near the exit doors. I remember that I stood in the northern-most section of the front of the store, flipping through the pages. I was 10 years old, and I was mesmerized. That I can remember exactly where I was - exactly where I STOOD - when I first read this comic is a testament to the power of story, regardless of the medium. My life would never be the same.
