Im about to post something from what some may consider a controversial website. Personally, i dont know whats true and whats not. I do not mean for this to constitute a personal attack on anyone, particularly not the VNC President, Linda Lucks. I am aware that there does exist a history of some sort between Linda and the publisher/writer of Venice 311, Alex Thompson. I do not have a personal rapport or relationship with either one of these women, so i am in no position to judge what claims are true or false, nor what may or may not have happened in the past. I happen to live, however, in an apartment building on Westminster Ave, that is located very near the Senior Center and Dog Park. I am thus very concerned about the possibility that it could become, as Steve Clare of the VCH proposes, a permanent resource for the unhoused... I do not intend to be taking that phrase out of context. I posted a link to Steves complete message, which you can find a few posts below and which is dated Jan. 18th. Today on the Venice 311 dot Org website (specific link deliberately not posted), Alex Thompson makes a series of accusations in regards to both Steve Clare and Linda....none of which i can confirm or verify as to their veracity. But they do raise some disturbing questions and issues which i feel should be honestly addressed before any decision is made by either the VNC, Mike Bonin or the LA City Council. My primary rationale and concern for making this post, is my suspicion that there could exist hidden agendas that are not being made explicit and which are not fully understood by the community...myself included. I do not like to feel that i am being politically naive. I assume that there are many people here who are more aware and politically savvy than i am, regarding these specific issues. I am making this post in the hopes that it might help enlighten me, as well as other members of the community, who might also not be so well informed.
