Solar radiation from the sun is composed of rather short Wavelength Radiation, with approximately ten percentages being ultraviolet rays, about 40% being visible and about 50% being short wavelength near infrared ray. This radiation is absorbed by the objects of the Earth or inside the Conservatory. In the Hot House, the glass bounces the long wavelength IR back down. This trapped long Wavelength Infrared Radiation is absorbed by Objects, which gives rise to further heating, and the cycle continues. Thus, the hothouse acts as solar collectors.
