Im always looking for an excuse to prattle on about The Benjamins - TopicsExpress

Im always looking for an excuse to prattle on about The Benjamins -- but this time Ive got a serious point to make, too. Sometimes the darnedest people turn out to be great sources of information. In the final paragraphs of this Forbes post, I talk about two spectacular tipsters who I met during my final years at The Wall Street Journal. Both of them seemed too unreliable for me to take seriously. Big mistake. Both of them were 100% right, despite their many quirks. And they had Pulitzer-grade information. It was my loss, for not grabbing hold of their tips and chasing the stories. I still reserve the right to screen out folks who arent making sense. But when something really odd comes my way, Im trying to pay more attention to the underlying message -- and not make a snap decision based solely on the (weird) clothes someones wearing or the (even weirder) car theyre driving.
