Im at the concept stage of a book (or series) that I would like some feedback on. I hope you will join this discussion. Heres the history and concept: I was contacted by an old friend about a child who has survived an assortment of abuses that happened during his first years of life. Hes still VERY young. Because of his abuse, he finds safety and security being a princess, because, in the childrens books and movies, the princess is always protected, safe and cherished. Im really scratching my head, trying to develop a book for kids 4 or 5 years old, that will help them to feel safe and cherished, no matter who they are. This is a tough one. We need strong male or gender-neutral characters that kids like this can identify with. What are your thoughts?
