Im at the hospital to check up on mom after a very long day. She is sound asleep, unfortunately she was supposed to get surgery for her hand at some point today but it didnt happen for whatever reason. Her breathing tube is staying in until after surgery, we were hoping that it was going to come out today and then drs can assess speech and memory and neuro stuff. Hoping tomorrow we can get a little more progress. She is comfortable and stable and needs a lot of rest. She has been awake and opening her eyes and that strong woman that everyone has been talking about is trying to get up and trying to move her arms and legs, these are all great signs although nurses dont want her straining so much because of the brain injury, they dont want to risk a secondary injury that can be avoided. I will be back in the morning to talk with her team of Drs, and get the plan for her surgery. Keeping fingers crossed bcuz I so badly want to talk with my mom and I couldnt imagine how uncomfortable that tube is not to mention frustrating. Gnite everyone.
