Im back from a 10 day trip. I went to Maine to attend a 3 day soils/human health conference by Dr. Arden Anderson. A very interesting course that connected human health to the health of our soils. It has long been my belief that human health is directly related to the health of our soils. As proof I offer this: the USA has now dropped to the 42nd healthiest country in the world! We have the highest rates of cancer, auto-immune disorders, obesity among others. We, as producers need to remember that what we produce is nutrition. Then I traveled to Nebraska to put on 8 presentations in 4 days for the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition. Presented to over 650 people about our focus of holistic regeneration of our resources. Great interaction with a fantastic bunch of producers and agency staff, including the State Conservationist for Nebraska Craig Derickson. There is an ever increasing awareness that the current production model is not working on many levels. Thanks to all those who attended for their support. My next stop is Virginia for the Virginia Farm to Table Conference and then on to Illinois for the Acres Conference.
