Im back from the ER after having the scare of my life around 9:00 - TopicsExpress

Im back from the ER after having the scare of my life around 9:00 tonight. I had just woken up and the floor lamp in the living room was on. It is one of the kinds with the 3 lights that gets really hot and can cause fires if kept near curtains, etc. So, I walk over to adjust the light.... POP. I saw a flash of electricity and the next thing my left hand felt like it was on fire. My heart is racing and im starting to wheeze because im breathing fast. My fingers were hurting badly. Mike was at a friends house. I immediately unplugged the lamp and dialed 911. Given that I have hypertension and AFIB and was just struck by electricity they were on their way. My ring and middle fingers both had black stuff on them..ashes!? The burn on my middle finger was oozing. The medics came assessed me. My bp was high; bottom number being 110. They did not run an ekg, which surprised me. I had just taken my heart meds before they got there. I got the ER and they asked me over and over again what the wattage of the light was. Like I had any clue! I just know that my fingers were burning and I was in pain. I ended up getting a tetanus shot and being treated for a first degree burn on my ring finger and a second degree burn on my middle finger. My heart is fine. Yes, the firefighters and paramedics said that I was electrocuted and have electrical burns. I am okay right now. I am just praising God that my heart was not hurt worse and that there was no fire. My arm is very sore from the tetanus shot. Now I can actually say that I have been electrocuted and lived to tell. Thank you LORD, and thank you station 72 and ambulance crew 10 for taking such good care of me and my heart. I am so thankful that the birds were not hit by the sparks as their cage is pretty close to the lamp. Thank you Lord for sparing my precious feathered babies. Love, a very grateful budgie mommy - Donna.
